Center for Spine & Joint offers a comprehensive range of non-surgical advanced treatments for the diagnosis and treatment of painful conditions throughout the Nashville, TN area. In our state-of-the-art outpatient centers, we are able to effectively diagnose and treat a large scope of painful medical conditions.
Our pain management specialists also treat arthritic conditions of the spine, shoulders, knees, hips, hands and feet. In addition to herniated disc, rotator cuff tears, plantar fasciitis, tennis elbow, as well as, joint strains and sprains.

Son D. Le, MD, DABPMR, ABAM, DABPM

Son D. Le, MD, FAAPMR, DABAM, DABPM is the Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Center for Spine & Joint. Dr. Le is Board Certified by the American Academy of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, American Board of Addiction Medicine and the American Board of Pain Medicine.  Dr. Le has a special interest in comprehensive pain management that includes coordinating the utilization of advanced and minimally invasive procedures including spinal cord neuromodulation for the treatment of chronic pain, diagnostic and therapeutic injections responsible medication management,  emotional pain management counseling, and functional rehabilitation through physical therapy.

Dr. Le earned his Bachelor of Science in 1991, from the University of California, Irvine and graduated from The Chicago Medical School, Chicago, Illinois, in 1995. He completed his residency in physical medicine & rehabilitation as chief resident, at the University of Chicago, Schwab Rehabilitation Hospital, Chicago, Illinois, in 1999.  Dr. Le is a Diplomate of the American Academy of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, American Board of Addiction Medicine and American Board of Pain Medicine.

Dr. Le’s broad level of medical expertise includes the specialization of non-surgical orthopedics and sports medicine offering a broad choice in treatment modalities for patients suffering from pain related to the neck, back, joints of the arms and legs, including injuries of the muscles and nerves.

Dr. Le is active in various professional organizations ranging from local to international. He is a member of the American Association of Neuromuscular and Electrodiagnostic Medicine, American Academy of Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation, American Academy of Pain Management, International Spine Intervention Society, Physiatric Association of Spine, Sports, & Occupation Rehabilitation, the American Medical Association, the American Society of Interventional Pain Physicians and their local chapter, the Tennessee Society of Interventional Pain Physicians.

Dr. Le established Center for Spine & Joint in 2002 in Hermitage, TN inside Summit Medical Center. Center for Spine & Joint has multiple locations in the Nashville, Tennessee.

Lori Gravens, FNP

Lori Gravens, NP is a certified Nurse Practitioner at Center for Spine, Joint and Neuromuscular Rehabilitation. Lori earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree from Cumberland University in Lebanon, TN. She completed her Master’s of Science in Nursing degree at Tennessee State University in Nashville, TN where her focus was on the Family Nurse Practitioner track but she has clinical experience in all areas of study. Lori graduated Magna Cum Laude and was inducted into the National Honors Society for nurses while in Nurse Practitioner school.

She is Tennessee licensed and board certified with the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners. She has been chosen as a Top Nurse in Middle Tennessee for her outstanding care by the American Nurses Association. She is also a member of the Middle Tennessee Advanced Practice Nurses Association and the American Society for Nurse Practitioners.

Lori resides in Middle Tennessee with her family. She enjoys working with patients and trying to find a solution that works best to allow patients to live a more pain free and active lifestyle.

 

Allen TatePA-C

Allen E. Tate, former United States Marine Infantryman and current Tennessee National Guardsman received his Master’s degree in Medicine, Physician Assistant Studies from Trevecca Nazarene University in Nashville, Tennessee in 2003. He is an active veteran who has experience in combat medicine and multiple wartime deployments. Allen has practiced general medicine, pulmonology, sleep medicine, addictionology, and pain medicine over the course of his career. He has earned multiple degrees during his education including Bachelor of Arts, Bachelor of English, and Bachelor of Science in Chemistry as well as his secondary school Teaching Certificate.

Allen has enjoyed establishing and coaching High School Cross Country and Soccer for Middle Tennessee Christian School in Murfreesboro, Tennessee. Captain Tate is a teacher at heart and firmly believes in a multidisciplinary approach as well as an individual consideration to the management of chronic pain. His focus is to educate and motivate patients to engage in the process of managing and controlling their own symptoms. Allen is a proponent of holistic and ancillary approaches for pain in conjunction with opiate therapy.

Allen Tate is a current member of the Tennessee Academy of Physician Assistants, American Academy of Physician Assistants, and the Tennessee Army National Guard.

Travonda PirtlePA-C

Travonda Pirtle, MMS, PA-C earned her Masters of Science, Physician Assistant from Wake Forest University School of Medicine.  She is currently a member of the American Academy of Physician Assistants.

Travonda is currently seeing new patients in both our Hermitage and Murfreesboro offices.

Josh McWatersFNP

Josh McWaters earned his BSN at Cumberland University in Lebanon, TN.  After several years of hospital work, he decided to continue his education and achieved his MSN, FNP at Middle Tennessee State University.  Josh has a well rounded career that has included experience in both hospital settings and also caring for chronic pain patients in a private outpatient setting.  Josh is currently seeing new patients at our Hermitage office.
