Nicole Farran, DNP, WHANP-BC

NICOLE FARRAN, MSN, APRN, WHANP-BC, DNPC Nicole Farran, DNP, WHANP-BC practices as a Nurse Practitioner at Center for Spine, Joint, & Neuromuscular Rehabilitation. Dr. Farran is part of the multidisciplinary team of pain specialists working to promote patient’s physical function and quality of life. Additionally, Dr. Farran leads our health and wellness program to assist with weight management, diet, and exercise planning.

Dr. Farran is a Board Certified Adult and Women’s Health Nurse Practitioner with experience working in a broad range of clinical environments that include both inpatient and outpatient settings. Dr. Farran’s experience includes internal medicine, women’s health, sleep medicine, cardiology, and allergy care. Dr. Farran has strong patient assessment skills and a commitment to providing quality patient care. Dr. Farran received her Bachelor of Science in Biology in 2002 from Furman University, her Master of Science in Nursing from Vanderbilt University in 2005, and earned her Doctorate of Nursing Practice from Saint Louis University in 2011. Her doctoral research was focused on quality improvement regarding the identification and management of overweight and obese adults. She is a member of various professional organizations including the Tennessee Nursing Association, American Nurses Association, Sigma Theta Tau honor society, and the Midwest Nursing Research Society.

Patients appreciate Dr. Farran’s compassionate and individualized quality care. Dr. Farran has a special interest in comprehensive pain management, as well as weight management.


Catie Lee, MSN, NP-C

NICOLE FARRAN, MSN, APRN, WHANP-BC, DNPC Catie Lee MSN, NP-C is a board certified family nurse practitioner at Center for Spine, Joint, and Neuromuscular Rehabilitation. She obtained her BSN and MSN degree from the University of Alabama-Birmingham.  As a practicing nurse, Mrs. Lee gained experience in a range of medical and surgical areas including orthopedics, limb salvage, plastic surgery, and pediatric neurology in both the inpatient and outpatient settings.

During her work in orthopedics and limb salvage, she developed a greater understanding of and compassion for those experiencing chronic pain. Mrs. Lee believes in a multidisciplinary approach to managing long-term pain including medications, physical therapy, interventional injections, and behavioral coping skills.

She is a member of the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners, the American Nurses Association, and Sigma Theta Tau honor society.

 

Michael Overfelt, PA-C

NICOLE FARRAN, MSN, APRN, WHANP-BC, DNPC Michael Overfelt, PA-C, practices as a Physician Assistant at Center for Spine, Joint, & Neuromuscular Rehabilitation. Mr. Overfelt is part of the multidisciplinary team of pain specialists working to promote patient’s physical function and quality of life.

Mr. Overfelt is a Board Certified Physician Assistant with over 26 years of clinical experience working in both inpatient and outpatient settings. Mr. Overfelt began his undergraduate studies at the University of Arizona, Tucson in 1976. In 1984, Mr. Overfelt earned his professional degree as a Physician Assistant from the University of Kentucky. He is a member of various professional organizations including the American Academy of Physician Assistants, and the Tennessee Academy of Physician Assistants.

Mr. Overfelt has strong patient assessment skills and a commitment to providing quality patient care. He has experience in caring for patients with both acute and chronic conditions in a variety of settings.
Patients appreciate Mr. Overfelt’s compassionate and individualized quality care. Outside of the clinic, Mr. Overfelt enjoys spending time with his family and being active in his church.

 

 

Erica Pennington, MSN, ANP-BC

NICOLE FARRAN, MSN, APRN, WHANP-BC, DNPC Erica Pennington is a board certified Nurse Practitioner at Center for Spine, Joint, and Neuromuscular Rehabilitation.  She graduated from Vanderbilt University with her Master of Science Nursing degree in May of 2010. Erica also holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Biology/Physical Education from DePauw University and a Master of Arts degree in Wellness Management from Ball State University.  After working in the field of wellness and health promotion for five years, she decided to return to school to become a nurse because she felt she could have a greater impact on improving a person’s quality of life as a medical professional. While working as an athletic trainer at DePauw and as director of a work conditioning program at a Toyota manufacturing facility in Kentucky, Erica developed a special interest in musculoskeletal injuries and overuse syndromes.  She has nursing experience working in cardiology, pulmonary and orthopaedics. 

Erica is passionate about improving the quality of life of her patients and believes in a holistic approach to pain management.  She feels that chronic pain and acute injury can not only affect one’s physical health, but also impact one’s emotional, social, vocational and spiritual health.  Erica is excited to be a part of an organization like SJNMR, where providers strive to identify and treat the underlying cause of a patient’s pain, as well as the patient’s symptoms, through a variety of treatment options. She is also a strong advocate of the Healthy U Weight Loss Program at SJNMR and believes that maintaining a healthy weight is an integral component in managing spine and joint pain.



Mamie Ruble, MNSc, APN, FNP-BC

SHELLEY PLOCH, MSN, ACNP-BCMamie Ruble is a board certified Nurse Practitioner at Center for Spine, Joint, and Neuromuscular Rehabilitation. Ms. Ruble received her Master’s in Nursing Science from the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences as a Family Nurse Practitioner in 1998.  She received her Associate in Laboratory Technology in 1984 and her Associate in Nursing in 1986 at Garland County Community College, in Hot Springs, Arkansas.

Ms. Ruble has been in healthcare for over 30 years.  Her experiences range across the lifespan.  As an emergency medical technician and registered nurse, she has experience in long term care, emergency medicine, surgery, cardiac care, and surgical-trauma intensive care.  Ms. Ruble was also an instructor at the Baptist School of Nursing-Northwest in Arkansas. Since obtaining her licensure as a Family Nurse Practitioner, Ms. Ruble broad clinical practice includes inpatient and outpatient psychiatric care, family practice and urgent care, as well as experience in pain management. 

Patients appreciate Ms. Ruble’s compassion and sense of humor.  She believes in a holistic, multidisciplinary, traditional and non-traditional team approach to delivering comprehensive care for patient’s suffering from painful conditions to improve their quality of life.

Ms. Ruble has three children, and together they have survived the loss and carry on the memory of their beloved husband and father, Dr. Richard Clark Ruble, II, who was a Family Practice physician in Arkansas.

 

Wilhemina Boadi, MSN, FNP-BC

SHELLEY PLOCH, MSN, ACNP-BCWilhemina Boadi, MSN, FNP-BC is a board certified Nurse Practitioner at the Center for Spine, Joint and Neuromuscular Rehabilitation. She obtained her Bachelor of Science in Nursing and Master of Science in Nursing from Tennessee State University, Nashville Tennessee.

Ms. Boadi chose the path of pain management after her experience as an oncology nurse at Centennial Medical Center.  Through her oncology patient care, Ms. Boadi observed how pain can impact all aspects of one’s life. 

Ms. Boadi is convinced that managing pain is not limited to the administration of medication alone, but also includes exercise, nutrition, behavioral and emotional support along with appropriate prescribed treatments.  Ms. Boadi looks forward to partnering with patients to achieve their maximum physical function.
