At the Center for Spine, Joint, & Neuromuscular Rehabilitation, we believe in caring for the whole patient through the mind/body approach. We know that people can experience pain physically, emotionally, socially, spiritually and intellectually. Pain can inhibit a normal productive life and can limit a patient’s ability to concentrate, participate in a job, physical activities and the enjoyment of social interactions. A mind/body consultation is a critical component for the comprehensive treatment of a patient’s pain. The pain assessment helps to increase the understanding of the impact that pain has on all aspects of one’s life. Therefore, part of our goal is to provide the patient with social support and vocational rehabilitation.
